After recording our [Radiohead’s] first album I spent a decade working against the feeling that I was falling short.
My Gremlin is a tricksy collaborator, it has some useful things to say when it’s not paralysing you
My past two and half decades have been a case of working with my Gremlin and seeing him as a collaborator.
Once you have an established body of work there is the insecurity around imitating yourself, or letting people down because you’re not producing what they assumed you would.
On having conversations about insecurities with his bandmates:
If we had those conversations at the time I think we could have saved ourselves a lot of pain.
So much of it is just muddling through I think
